The Animal Range was a location added in Seacraft 2.2. It was made so people could get animal resources or to get animals for use in animal farms or as pets.
Function[]
The Animal Range was made so that people could get resources from animals, as wild animals are quite hard to find on Seacraft. The animals in the Animal Range are spawned by using a button inside the Animal Range Infohouse, which is a small wooden house and the entrance of the range. The Infohouse contains everything players might need to know about the Animal Range. Players can also buy leads for 2rc each to bring animals home.
History[]
Creation of the Range[]
As mentioned, the Animal Range was created so people could get resources from animals. A large uninhabited area near Town was fenced off to be the Animal Range. The Animal Range Infohouse was built to give people information and would allow people to spawn the animals. Additionally, a train station was built for the Animal Range which connected to the Zoo and Bombing Range train stations. The Animal Range was released in October 2014 as part of Seacraft 2.2.
Later, a feature was created to purchase a lead for one iron ingot. This was later changed to 2rc during Seacraft 2.3.
Removal[]
During September 2022 in Version 3, jaykobe, mayor of Mainland Plaza City Council destroyed the Animal Range to make room for an expansion to the Zoo. This was justified as the Animal Range went unused during Version 2, and since Version 3 was no longer survival-focussed, there was no need to keep the Animal Range.
Trivia[]
- The construction of the Animal Range was what inspired a pedestrian connection from Mainland Plaza to Sam's Dragon Village, which came in the form of the Seacraft Suspension Bridge. The thought was that players needed a way to lead animals from the Animal Range to Sam's Dragon Village.
